Arriving by Plane

The easiest way to arrive to Montreal is by flight. The Montreal Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (formerly "Montreal–Dorval International Airport") is the closest airport to the city.

International destinations from/to Montreal Airport includes: Amsterdam, Beijing, Brussels, Frankfurt, London, Los Angeles, Munich, New York, Paris, Rome, Washington, Zurich.

From the airport take the bus 747 and get off at "René-Lévesque / Jeanne-Mance".

Arriving by Train

Another possibility is to use the railway (see also Amtrack if you come from the USA).

The Montréal Central train station is located at 895 de la Gaucheterie West (near Bonaventure or McGill subway stations).

Arriving by Bus

The Bus Terminal is located at 1717 rue Berri. Montreal is connected by bus to several cities both in Canada (Ontario, Quebec) and USA (Massachusetts, New York, Vermont).

Once in Montreal you can get around using the Sociéte de transport de Montréal Subway and Bus Network.

Arriving by Car (from the USA)

To cross into Canada from New England, most people take US Interstate 89 from Vermont through to the Canadian border or the I-87 from upstate New York. (Source TripAdvisor)
